CHURCH COUNCIL
The Book of Disciple of the United Methodist Church ¶ 252
The church council shall provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, resources in the local church.  It shall also provide for the administration of its organization and temporal life.  It shall envision, plan, implement, and annual evaluate the mission and ministry of the church.  The church council shall be amenable to and function as the administrative agency of the charge conference (¶ 244).
 
The membership of the council may consist of a few as eleven persons or as many as the charge conference deems appropriate.  The members present and voting at any duly announced meeting shall constitute a quorum.

MAGNIFICATION MINISTRY
The Purpose of this ministry is worship. 
 
We worship God in spirit and in truth through singing, playing of instruments, and dancing.  We celebrate to the glory of God with the 150th Psalm as our biblical foundation.

MEMBERSHIP MINISTRY
The Purpose of this ministry is fellowship.  The target group is the congregation.  This ministry is responsible for caring of the flock.

Class 101 – New Members Seminar
Bereavement Ministry
Hospital Care Ministry
Wedding Ministry
Pastoral Care Ministry

MATURITY MINISTRY
The Purpose of this Christian Education Ministry is to provide for the spiritual growth, maturity, nurturing, and edification for every child of God.  The goal of this ministry is to provide assistance to all age groups on their spiritual journey.

The ministries within this purpose area are:
Church School: Adults/Young Adults/Youth/Children
Confirmation Classes
Bible Study Classes for all age groups
 Vacation Bible School
 Class 201 – Maturity Training
 Nursery
 Historian

MISSIONS MINISTRY
The Purpose of this ministry is to be engaged in evangelism and mission through the effective communication of God’s Word, God’s Love and God’s Grace. The overriding responsibility for the Mission Purpose Area is to effectively communicate.  It is essential that the Gospel of Jesus Christ be communicated in ways and means that make the Gospel accessible and understandable in our contemporary setting. 
 
The goal of the Missions Ministry is to plan, promote, and oversee building bridges between the community and Camp Wisdom UMC, with the “unchurched” specifically in mind. Their target group is the community.
The term “unchurched” refers to those who have never been inside of a church as well as those who have, however do not have a personal relationship with God and those who have been away from the church for awhile.

  -Advertising/Broadcasting Media- Newspaper, Radio & Television

MINISTRIES MINISTRY
The Purpose of this ministry is to demonstrate God’s love through outreach and ministry to the community at large and to the community of faith.  Its goal is to provide care and nurture to Camp Wisdom members and the members of the community we serve.  This includes however not limited to the identification of community needs and the design and implementation of ministries and programs to address these felt needs.
